Great deal on synthetic oil
Five quarts of synthetic oil and a filter for $24 ain’t bad, but you have to deal with a mail-in rebate. Good until October 15. Advance Auto Parts is running some specials as part of some silly celebration for being online for 2 whole years. TWO YEARS?! Whoo. 😉
I’d do a bunch of research on that filter before using it. A good oil filter is one of the most important parts that should be high quality (Mann, etc.… this Volvo forum oil filter topic includes one member’s comment saying it’s possible Bosch filter = Mann filter) on our Volvos. From their ad:
Buy 5 Plus Quarts jug or 5 single quarts of Valvoline SynPower Synthetic motor oil and a Bosch Distance Plus filter for $23.99, after $7 mail-in rebate.
The oil alone is normally priced at $35.99. I think you can get it in different weights, not just the 5W-30 shown here:
In addition to the filter research, I’d do some oil research on SynPower Synthetic to see if it’s 100% or a blend. Manufacturers have started to slowly slip conventional oil percentages into “synthetic” oils.
I think this is a walk-in-the-store only deal. Find a store. MVS is an affiliate of Advance Auto Parts, but I don’t get a dime from this unless you click a link from MatthewsVolvoSite (like this one: Great Deals at AdvanceAutoParts.com! or links on the sidebar) to get to their site and buy online, then walk in to pick it up. Interestingly, they accept PayPal payments.
