Out of the blue, the automatic transmission in my 240 (1992) won't go into 4th speed overdrive anymore. It would seem to just be an electrical or switch problem since it works perfectly otherwise. I've also heard that this can be an easy fix. However, the mechanic at a nearby small transmission shop (new to us) told us we need a $3000 (CAN) repair!!! I find this hard to believe. We're not having anything done until we investigate further. Any ideas on what the problem might be?
