When the temp outside gets over 100F a sensor on the engine cuts off the a/c compressor. This problem is partially addressed in Robin's post but I want to specifically find out about this sensor and if it can be reset. I use synthetic oil and there are no over temp indications or warning lights. I would rather have the a/c working when it gets hot and still not damage my engine. This happens when I drive to Phoenix, Arizona. I'm using a 10w-30 oil and maybe the fix is to use 10w-40.
