The cutoff is driven by oil pressure. The change from 0w-30 Mobil 1 to 0w-40 Mobile 1 appears to have fixed the problem. Two trips back to Phoenix on hotter days, 110+ at 80+ mph curising speeds and two stops with return to 80 at full throttle (turbo) did not hit the a/c cutoff.

I did make a typo in the original, it is 0w-30 etc, not 10w-30.
