I have a 96 850 Turbo wagon with 102K miles using Mobil 1 with 5K changes, using a Mobil 1 oil filter. Oil analysis say the engine is in great shape, no problems at all, and the car runs like new. Leak down test also says the engine is still like new. I bought the turbo to use it and I do. The maintenance is always kept up, a little more than the factory recommends.

Modern turbo installations with computer controls and fuel injection and a good base engine like the Volvo 850 make turbo problems a thing of the past.

The only other comment I can make is that the coolant must be kept clean and the system flushed. I do it every 30K miles. I have done it three times in six years, along with a new thermostat each time.
