From the Home page of this site: "These are very friendly cars to work on, and they give a better 'return' than most brands. By that I mean comfort, safety, even a sense of community. If you don't want to work on it but still want a Volvo, find a good independent Volvo shop. Not as good as doing your own work, but a close second. Contrary to public opinion, the turbo causes few problems. Problem areas: transmission, AC evaporator, driver's seat (electrical), and miscellaneous pieces like headlite washers, roof stips (trim), and O2 sensors."Having said that, the thing that concerns me the greatest is your terminology. "Hi-conversion turbo" scares me. Was this aftermarket work? I've never heard this term. Other than that, have it checked my a mechanic. Pay the money it takes. Feel for *continuous* cold air from AC. Listen for squeaks while driving it. Look for oil leaks. Bring someone with you who knows cars, or better, Volvos, assuming you don't. |
