Re: Late 80s redblock issue post/article? Premature belt wear.
240 redblock engines have an overhead cam shaft driven by a cog belt. It is driven by the crankshaft and has an idler/tensioner. Unless the crank pulley or the cam shaft pulley are damaged (I think unlikely) the issue is likely the tensioner has gone bad. Relatively easy to change these belts and id...

Re: 98 v70: power steering fluid issue
Get the car front end up in the air.
On a 1998 get a block off for the return hose port, then pour ATF into the reservoir while turning the wheel lock to lock
Two reservoirs full should do the flush.
The Valvoljne maxlife atf is about $5 a liter in the jug

Re: 98 v70: power steering fluid issue
.
Per abscate recommended method. Any Synthetic Multi-Vehicle ATF will do. My personal experience and choice in order Swepco 714 20wt (non synthetic in 98 & 00 S70), Havoline, Wolf's Head transmission fluid.

Re: 98 v70: what sensor is this? Unable to identify or find on ipd.
Could probably see it better or get a better picture of location in the engine bay if you zoom out. It looks like the pressure cut off switch for the AC system however?

Re: UPDATE1: 99 s70 silver awd turbo auto PARTS: anyone interested in parts? Antlers OK
Fastenal has/had a way to ship stuff between their stores, has to be strapped to a pallet so they can fork it. Used it a few times some years ago, it's a less-than-truckload deal, they didn't guarantee a time. Might be an option for high-value hard to get parts for the AWD crowd.

Let’s try get a Fastenal quote from Antlers to Albany… It used to be called something else, but try here https://www.fastenal.com/fast/blue-lane-freight When I get back to DE I'll dig out my old paperwork from the couple times I used them. Pretty painless; the fee was based on miles as opposed to s...

Re: Restoration: I Bought the Cheapest Running 98 V70 T5M (2023)
If I see no photos it didn t happen. Just saying ... All right, all right. Here are some quick and dirty pics from my phone. (And no this isn't my garage, and it was only supposed to be here for a few hours) It may be rough but I am still salivating. She's no looker, but still mint. Will post...
