Re: What did you do to your Volvo today? (now Sticky!!)
So a while back I used Carpro Hyrd02. I washed, clayed, and polished the coat before using this stuff and the S70 was like new. Water just slided right of the coat. Now, 1 month later, I'm not really all too happy with the product. The shine is gone, because of the salt on the roads and snow, so I ...

Re: What did you do to your Volvo today? (now Sticky!!)
Flash code reader. Lots of excellent posts on here already detailing how to make it and read it. All you need is three bits of wire and a 12v led. A switch makes things easier but isn't required. Heres a link on how to read the codes: click Heres another two on how to make it: link 1 and link 2

Re: Early & late 850 instrument cluster compatibility
Have a link? Postage alone from U.S to Serbia is around 40$ plus 25$ for a gear kit...plus custom taxes. I can get a cluster for 20-25€. Here you go - not sure which of the two gears has died in yours, or which of the two cluster types you have - so this covers all three. Another option for VDO-typ...

Re: Restore car paint
Wet sand to remove swirls is extremely unnecessary, wet sanding is a last ditch effort to remove orange peel or deep scratches. The whole point of paint correction is to use the least aggressive method possible. Jumping straight into the most aggressive is not good advice. Furthermore, removing wet-...

Re: 1998 S70 N/A noises in suspension
Oh, my bad! Here's the link again: https://youtu.be/yOCtKi2Sr9M Can you explain what drop links and arb bushes are? Do you mean the rubber bushes in the control arms? Keep in mind, English isn't my native language :) My bad! Drop links are the little links that are bolted onto your suspension strut...

Re: What did you do to your Volvo today?
I was under the impression, but ready to be corrected, that one can just swap the skins over (unless it's MY99 in which case they're very different). Can swap the foams too if they're in better nick.

Re: 850: Split rivits, fender liners, mud flaps and rocker panels
I mean a nutsert. They often get called different things, like rivnut or blind rivet nut. You install the nutsert in the exact same way as a normal rivet, and come in sizes from M2 to M10, so finding one to suit your hole size is easy. This goes into the bumper or fender etc. You then thread a bolt...

Re: What did you do to your Volvo today?
After sorting the passenger heated seat the other day I decided to look at the drivers one. The heated seat was working but would get very hot indeed - leading me to suspect the thermostat wires again. I guess in this instance because both wires were broken/disconnected it allowed the heated seat to...

Re: RobertDIY manufacturing new parts
Seat skins and bases are currently available from Elwood Industries, and there have been UK suppliers for wings and bumpers 9Volvo Composites on Facebook) both have been available for years. Volvo Composites primarily do lips/splitters for the R bumpers, but I believe they're working on full bumpers...
