V70 2000 Rear Wiper stopped working...Problem solved!
Hey everyone. I discovered my rear wiper stopped working about 6 months ago, and I just haven't had a lot of time to diagnose what the problem could be until recently. Last week, my rear lock actuator wouldn't lock or unlock the tailgate either, and that's when I had to get to the bottom of this iss...

Re: outer CV removal - where is the circlip?
OK here is my experience: As people posted above, the circlip is accessible in a recess and I just had to rotate the joint, I saw it right away when I went back to the job: recess with circlip.jpeg For removal of the outer CV, it wasn't going anywhere when I banged on it pretty hard without touching...

Re: 1997 850 rear wiper wiring break repair
Quite often the copper strands break inside the insulation so give each individual wire a good tug where the wire bends at the tailgate hinge point. One other issue I have seen is where multiple wires short out at the tailgate hinge point due to insulation break down, left unrepaired such a short ci...

How to replace the red seatbelt release button
Just replaced the seat release buttons on my 1996 855. These red buttons starts to break after 15-20 years of use, typically the front ones, as they get the most use. Didn't find a thread that describes the procedure, so here it is: You can get replacement buttons from IPD https://www.ipdusa.com/pro...

Re: '96 850 Heating and AC Problems
Sounds like the resistor to me, as to my knowledge that's the only thing controlling blower motor speed is the resistor. These are easy enough to fit and pretty reasonably priced. Here's a link to what is potentially the same problem by another poster on this forum: click me Not true. If the MCC fa...

Re: Volvo 850 power loss under hard acceleration
That's about as far as mine goes on the boost gauge, so Id be interested in knowing if its normal too! That is quite normal for a T5, maybe a bit low. The R models go a bit further. And my T5M goes a bit further as well, but then drops back immediately because it has boost spikes. you can always sh...

Re: What did you do to your Volvo today? (now Sticky!!)
Looked through its history trying to see when the plugs were last changed... Can't see any evidence they ever were at all! What is the recommended replacement for the T5? Seen several threads on here with so many different answers, with the only real reoccurring comment being the gap - 0.028" ...

Re: What did you do to your Volvo today? (now Sticky!!)
Wait. People wax their cars without removing the license plate? Savagery. Add another item to the used car inspection list. The attachment of the rear plate on the p80 is an engineering beauty. The two screws recess into the trunk/tailgate lid so they don’t corrode The threads on my screws weren't ...
