Re: Suspension Total Replacement - What and how much?
OP, I have freshend my front suspension as well at 175K miles. New struts, top mount, top bearing, lower control arm & ball joint, stabilizer bar end links, outer & inner tie rods + alignment. All told around $670 in parts + $80 for alignment. This goes against general consensus of using onl...

Re: Oil pressure problem - "no oil pressure stop engine safely"
I had the "no oil pressure stop safely" warning come up recently on my 2006 Volvo XC70 (the 2.5L turbo engine) at 144,000 km's (90,000 miles) on the car after a burst of hard acceleration. I pulled off the freeway and checked the oil, which was at a normal level. At low rpm, or low cruisin...

Re: No Oil Pressure - Stop Engine
Hi All, Thank you for your feedback. To answer some of your questions, yes there is oil in the motor and no I did not switch to synthetics recently, I have always used the same oil. The ECM-439C error is related to the evaporative system, the Leak Detection Pump so it has nothing to do with the oil ...

Re: No Oil Pressure - Stop Engine
Nothing like the 30731007 on the 2006 XC70. The only thing that is remotely like 30731007 on the 2006 XC70 is Crankcase Breather Pipe Assembly which is P/N 30731068 and cannot be confused with 30731007, they look quite different. 30731068 is used on on the 2005-2007 XC70 and the 2005-2009 S60. 30731...

Re: No Oil Pressure - Stop Engine
Hi folks, I just wanted to report that after having cleaned the oil sump and I mean, clean as a whistle, replaced the oil pressure sensor, the PCV Nipple and cleaned all the filters, the car is driving very well, it feels like there is more power and there are no VIDA errors. It has been hard work, ...

Bouncy Bouncy - Need Rear Shocks
It appears that 19 years and 250,000 miles have taken their toll on my V70’s rear shocks. I don’t think I need another 19 years/250K out of the next pair so will pass on the pricey OE units. Does anyone have anything bad to say about the KYB Gas-A-Just shocks? (P/N 553385 for 2003 V70 Base) Thanks i...

Re: Bouncy Bouncy - Need Rear Shocks
Embarrassingly I must admit that after nearly 50 years of driving various model Volvos that I don’t recall EVER replacing rear shocks of any of them. (Front struts are another story.) I see that the V70’s utilize a separate shock mount on the rear shocks. Does that shock mount contain some sort of r...
