Re: What did you do to your Volvo today?

So far I've not seen anything that made me want to throw tools at an engineer ! Although the interior has already received a few Torx screws, philips can go to hell  You should fiddle with the exhaust and see if it can sound like a 911..... Been done by the previous owner, I love it, my nei...

Re: where do you keep your phone in your 850?

I use magnetic ones that clamps on the vents in all my cars, the V70 and the Subie have thick enough vents to support them. The 940 however has thin ones (similar to an 850iirc), which eventually broke off. To avoid breaking them again when I replaced the vent, i made a small 3d printed support to r...

Re: 98 S70 front hood latch

. I believe it was bmdubya1198 that mentioned in another post about wedging a piece of cardboard instead of the wood to open the hood. https://www.matthewsvolvosite.com/forums/viewtopic.php?p=636828&hilit=hood+latch+s70#p636828 . In a pinch, a piece of cloth also works. Used a hoodie to open my...

Re: What did you do to your Volvo today?

I had fun trying to turn two tired axleshafts into a decent one Inner joint came out in 15min on first one, gave up after over an hour on the second axle (pictured here  ) https://i57.servimg.com/u/f57/16/41/73/43/img_2400.jpg Took a few measurements while I was at it, a manual axle thread migh...

Re: What did you do to your Volvo today?

V70 was struggling to cold start and started having so misses under load on the highway a good way from home. First suspect was the fuel pump hose again, pulled the pump in a hardware store parking lot (getting really good at it, under 5 minutes!), looked fine, drove home with a light right foot. H...

Re: What did you do to your Volvo today?

The OEM clamps are the style of the top one, those shouldnt loosen but as you said, it's free so might as well check clamps/hose before spending money. I'm using a non factory pump and E85 which isnt helping things; the hose that came with the pump was too short, the supposedly submersible hose i b...

Re: What did you do to your Volvo today?

Decided to tackle the numerous interior noises: first step, the cargo area. The cracked speaker trim has been reglued and i've given a go at 3d printing new clips to replace the broken ones that hold the upper trim https://i57.servimg.com/u/f57/16/41/73/43/2024-014.png At this price i can waste some...

Re: What is up with this dipstick?

This very much look like a 99+ dipstick in a -98 tube. I dont think you can get the old one brand new anymore and the new style one is often advertised as compatible, so a previous owner probably replaced it without noticing Image borrowed from IPD dipstick page https://www.ipdusa.com/products/9673/...

Re: B5254T in 94 T5?

People have been swapping 15g/16T with T5 ECU and injectors on B5254T cars for a while, so I dont really see why it wouldnt work if you ran one with 15G and a T5 M4.3 ECU. The engine itself is identical to a B5234T from the outside, every sensor should swap fine. If you're not chasing power goals (w...
