Re: Volvo S60 PCV Low Turbo Boost?!

You said in your initial post the PCV was never serviced? They say it's due every 100K, so if there's no history that it was serviced, it's definitely time. I would suspect clogged turbo hosing, or excess sludge in the oil trap, would affect your boost power. In extreme situations, the entire lower ...

Re: S60 2.0T - stalling and LTFT majorly out

I can't tell you much about the Torque readouts, but here's a couple things from diagnosing my own stalling. If you think there's any merit to the throttle body nod, you likely don't need a new one. You can detach it from your manifold and clean it out with a wire brush/cloth and some TB/carb cleane...

Re: Compression test questions

My fuel pump relay in my XC70 was in the panel to the left of the steering wheel. Read the diagram on the rear of the panel, your fuses could be configured different from my car. If it's not there it's gonna be under your hood, you'll find it with swiftness. I doubt a fuel pump relay will be buried...

Re: Compression test questions

This could be a silly inference, but perhaps you just haven't found the leak yet? Seems like a fair amount of oil to "burn" when your engine is puttering with gusto. Also, have you run an OBD scanner just for fun? Probably won't help diagnosing your oil consumption but could maybe throw a ...

Re: Massive Oil Leak

I would go ahead and pull that engine mount back off, and retrace your steps back toward to the far exhaust cam seal, then play with the reluctor wheel. Just for fun :) from the maintenance you listed, I don't see what else could make the described noise.

Re: When did you last have paid service for your Volvo

I almost went to the dealer a few months ago to spend $80 on anaerobic sealer, does that count? I realized that despite how much of a hurry I was in to put my oil pan back on, the expedience was not worth the exorbitant fee. Last year I went to a tire shop to have my new tires mounted and balanced :...

Re: Oil on top of valves?

are the crank shaft seals and/or oil pump seals known to go bad pretty easy? because it happened out of no where. "Easy" is perhaps a matter of interpretation, it's certainly not uncommon right now with our cars hitting two decades. Since you did your cam seals, oil around your belt housi...

Re: 2001 V70 2.4T Brake Failure Service Urgent / Power Fluctuations / Engine Shuddering

You mention the concept of tying up a spot in your driveway with maintenance; this insinuates there are more cars in your possession. Would schedules allow you to temporarily hijack a battery from another car, simply for another diagnostic drive? I'm not sure a rent-a-battery service is provided by ...

Re: What did you do to your P2 Volvo today?

Sounds like a mudflap to me  but less flappy.
