Re: Yet another misfire thread - Cylinder 3 - No compression
Yes, those cat codes are just warnings of what could ensue, not an indication of damage.

Re: 2006 Volvo S60 AWD - turbo replacement
This place http://www.siliconeintakes.com/ sells a nice thick-walled hose though I agree other sources are likely good. Anyway, they offer even number sizes e.g. 4-6-8-10mm. I use 4mm for the turbo lines. 4mm is good for most of the lines https://www.matthewsvolvosite.com/forums/viewtopic.php?t=6500...

Re: 2006 Volvo S60 AWD - turbo replacement
What does full pcv service entail, and how hosed is my engine at this point? ... Answered pretty throughly already. Just make sure you get the right parts for your car. It's a PITA job in terms of time investment but not technically difficult. And *for sure* clean the passageway into the sump, behi...

Re: 2006 Volvo S60 AWD - turbo replacement
The booster switch or motor might be faulty, if it isn’t running you can just wait the 30 seconds for the high idle to come down. This intrigues me for several reasons. You're saying a brake pedal that takes time to receive pressure... points to a failed brake booster or switch, yet it manages to p...

Re: Yet another misfire thread - Cylinder 3 - No compression
For a turbo you need to use the Volvo spec sodium filled exhaust valve. You will only need two exhaust valves, $50-60 each
Inter valve , CRP, TRW all fine for intakes. About $15 each

Re: Yet another misfire thread - Cylinder 3 - No compression
If you rotate the engine until #3 is on the compression stroke. Then pump smoke into the cylinder through the spark plug hole. You could also attach a Air hose to the compression tester deep well extension and see if the cylinder will hold pressure. If a valve is burnt you will get flow out of the i...

Re: Yet another misfire thread - Cylinder 3 - No compression
Neat, thanks for that! Starting to think you've experienced this yourself ;) I was leaning toward Victor Reinz for my stem job, but looks like Corteco makes them as well. Even CRP. All the trusted brands, interestingly enough. Wondering if they're all equal, or if any of them dropped the ball for s...

Replacement screws for OEM P2 Cross bars
Just wanted to share this quickly. These darn screws are not easy to find in the correct length, pitch, head/drive size. Granted, the oem screws are security T30’s & these are standard T30’s, but your original tool will work for both. I have spares. If anyone needs one just pay shipping or buy f...
