Re: 1998 v70 is it possible to remove rear axles permanently ?
Rear differential isn’t structural and can be removed no problem as far as I remember, though I think you’ll have to drop the subframe to do so.
You won’t know if they’re bad until you drive the car. If they don’t pump up to the proper ride height they’re no bueno

Re: Permanent removal of rear seat, 2006 Volvo XC70
You could also fabricate a wooden shelf / platform that's level with the rear load deck. Unless the rear floor space is handy for you.

Re: No start when at warm temperature
That code is caused by pulling the sensor wire while running. You’ve discovered no fuel pressure is your warm no-start cause, so it’s ignition switch , fuel pump relay, wiring, fuel pump on the diagnostic tree. You fault trace backwards, do get a good battery in the car, then create the warm no-star...

850 will work fine if you have the early evap system on your ‘98.
However if this thing is as tired as you say it is, maybe it’s worth picking up that P2. It’s a much better car overall if you just need a good daily, and a more fun transmission to boot

Re: What did you do to your P2 Volvo today?
I have a few things that have slowly creeped up now that need to be done. My CNG tank is expiring and as such I need to figure out if I will rip out the system and replace with LPG with a separated lpg computer, or if I will have to modify the system to accept LPG(this will take the longest time and...

Re: What did you do to your P2 Volvo today?
Welcome to MVS, Xc70MPoD. Thank you so so much! Been using this amazing site since 2011 when I bought a 2002 v70 with 220k on the clock with a strange whistle (pcv)! For the record, I'd do that v70s pcv all day no problem compared to the xc70 money pit of death. It's at 330 now with my FIL. These c...

Re: 1999 S70 AWD surging under load
First year for the sexy Italian throttle with its computer control, loved everywhere. The surging is so smooth it has me wondering if it’s boost related. I’m taking a field trip to Germany this week so it will be a weekend job earliest. It drove us to the train station fine. Do the boost sensors in...
