Re: Put in a used heater core...
"I also like to live dangerously" Seems like you have some good suggestions here. If you haven't done this job before just make sure to check waaaay under your carpet for coolant. The top of the floorboard soundproofing foam is rubber so it's possible to miss the coolant and a couple of us...

Re: 1999 S70 GLT Parking Brake Failure
One of mine stopped working as it was rusted or seized in the sheath. I found the crack, worked some PB blaster in it and pulled the ebrake a bunch of times till it freed itself. Might not be the issue, but figured I'd mention since you have cracks in the cable. It's definitely not a permanent fix b...

Re: This summer, used Volvo prices will go...
So with summer almost over, do we have any final thoughts? Statistically there was alot of writing about how hot the used car market was and that prices went up. Especially after like May. Anecdotally I feel like I saw a decent amount of project cars for sale for a loss by the owner, but that might ...

Re: Fixing rocker panel rust - 99 s70
Posting these here for future reference if anyone wants to see that it can be done. I should mention that I got very lucky in a couple of ways: 1. Abscate cut out good donor metal for me 2. A friend could lend me a welder 3. Another friend who does professional body work (on million dollar cars) gav...

Re: What did you do to your Volvo today?
I used an oil change and tire rotation to teach a friend's son some of the basics of owning your own car. He's 18 or 19 and a little timid but seemed really keen to learn more since I taught him to drive stick last week. Oil still had some reddish color after about 5k mostly highway miles, but I thi...
