Looks good, alot of people on the on the FB v70 group paint them an ugly saturated bright red or blue

I think it would pop if you polish the Aluminum head with Stove Black wood stove polish. I cannot say for sure how well Stove Black will work on Aluminum. You might want to test it on a piece of scrap Aluminum before you commit to it. If it works ... Black intake also?

Anyway, very interesting tips. I think I will youtube that stuff right away. Not sure about intake color but who knows. Maybe I'll try learning a little bit photo shop so I can get some ideas.

A little follow up:
The thermostat rubber seal was rock hard and fell to pieces when I took it off. The brand was for sure Reinz because it came in a head gasket kit of brand Victor Reinz that I bought and used 8 years ago. The engine has only been driven 50K miles since then.
Should that be called normal or bad quality?

I’d say 50k miles for an aftermarket thermostat gasket that costs probably $2 is good. I mean, the OE gaskets usually last longer, but I guess 50k isn’t too bad.

I would fall into the “ bad quality” camp
I drove the T5 470 miles around upstate NY ona beautiful spring day. Stopped at cabin and mowed lawn since I fired the lawn service, two socially distanced outside meetings.
