Re: Think YOUR part was expensive???
Several grams of precious metals are used to make those suckers. Just be glad you don't have a bad def sensor, then you're derated and screwed until you get to the shop. The 5mph speed limit is a bit of a pain in the butt. Keeps me busy at work. Especially in the winter when this stuff really cause...

Turbine electric hybrid 850
Just found this article, apparently in 93, Volvo experimented with a turbine engine in an 850, powering a generator, with electric direct drive to the front wheels.

Re: low compression in cylinder #2 - should I attempt a ring job?
I've got lower compression in one cylinder, I'm wanting to do new rings, I think the rings in my cylinder are stuck, causing the low compression. I have no oil consumption. My car sat around for awhile, and if it was driven like an old person, the engine could carbon up. I'm also getting above avera...

Re: 98 AWD manual tranny in 96 AT?
From what I gather, it should work as far as bolting up, but you would need the right side axle from a manual AWD, and left side from a manual. I doubt the downpipe would work with the AWD case there.

Re: Wagon rear wiper doesn't contact glass
It's usually the hinge that rusts up. I spray it with penetrating fluid, work the arm out (away from glass) and back towards the glass. Try to spray both sides of the pivot pin, can get to I side easily with arm completely away from glass.

Re: pcv delete..?
Cheapest and quickest way, pull dipstick, shove hose over dipstick tube, route under car. You will see vapor and smoke coming out of the hose. Keep the rest of the PCV attached. It will work until you can fix PCV system properly.

Re: 96 850 leaking ATF, not 100% sure of the source yet..
I don't think that seal has any significant pressure behind it, just the pressure in the return line, which is minimal. I did use the Lucas stop leak, I think it slowed down, but mine is still there, but leaking enough to keep it oily down there. But it's worth adding a power steering stop leak to t...

98 Saffron V70R in Edmonton Wreckers
Went to the local wreckers today, found a 98 V70R in the orange Saffron color. Looked to be in decent shape, but we'll picked over, drivetrain gone, rear hatch gone. Mileage unknown, but driver's seat boulster is worn through, but no other wear found in interior. I have never saw a light tan V70R in...

Re: P80 engine cylinder bore marking
So now I'm curious. Part of the point of " mass production " is standardization of parts, so why would factory engines have 3 different sizes, or weights, of pistons ? Different engines, sure. But if we're just talking about the B5234...... https://www.speed-talk.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t...

Re: P80 positivebattery cable 9456836 NLA , OPTIONS?
I bought one of those pre made battery cables from a part store, with a top post clamp on one side and ring on the other in the same or larger gauge than stock and about the same length, ran the wire down to Smythe starter, tied the old battery cables away and kept the old cable in the harness. The ...
