Re: C70 subframe brace
Another test would be more of a practical nature: park with a front wheel up on a curb and test all four doors for opening/closing and catching while they do. Then test again with the sub frame installed. P80s were too flexy as they came from the factory floor. Help in this area is a good thing.

Re: C70 subframe brace
The big mid brace from the verts does make a difference. We have one on both of our cars. The little front V-brace can't be used on the non-vert subframe unless you add threaded inserts to the front to mount it. If you see one of the big braces in the yard, it's usually not a waste of time to grab i...

Re: What did you do to your Volvo today?
Very nice garage ! I haven't seen actual 1 x 's used for roof sheathing except on 100+ year old buildings. Plywood or OSB is the standard on this side of the pond. Is that typical for over there ? Thank you. Yes the norm here is plywood or OSB board but it has its problems when nailing slates into ...

Re: 1997 Volvo 850 GLT Radiator Hoses Preventative Maintenance?
I replaced all the hoses on my '97 855 to reduce the chances of sudden coolant loss while out and about, potentially leading to engine failure.

Re: 96ish parts
454cid - I only have grey dash parts. The only tan one I had went out in a wagon that I put together as a driver for an old friend because she needed a car. It will come back to me when it dies but I hope it serves her needs for a couple of years. Anything else pops up I'll keep you in mind. Clemens...

Re: What did you do to your Volvo today?
The bolts I pulled are the same as the others I have from other cars in my stash. Not 100% convinced of the 2 different bolt lengths. I'm probably wrong! Took all of the bolts too. I was thinking that I might buy two new ones for the main subframe attachment because those heads took some hits when ...
