A friend lent me a stack of vintage sports car magazines from the 50s and 60s to pore through. Great fun. The period race reports are fantastic - the controversial Ford win in 1966 at Le Mans. The new rear engine Indy cars defeating the old roadsters. The new full line of 1955 Chryslers! All the MG ...

Re: 850 T5 Blue Smoke after a couple hours of sitting
So now I'm curious - When Sveedy was completely stock I noticed that the stock dash turbo gauge didn't rise above about 3/4 of the way into the white under wot. Now with mods I've made I see the gauge go all the way to the far right, basically burying the needle. Any idea what the stock gauge is ca...

Re: Turbo engine compatibility
None whatsoever. You will likely want/need to keep your intake/ehaust manifold to keep all the emissions the same.

Re: Shocks ?
Don't use HD's. They are too hard for anything other than track use according to IPD. I had them on the front of my 'R' and broke them in the winter on a deep rut. I change to Bilstein Touring struts. A little firmer than the original OE but good all around.

Re: Shocks ?
Bilsteins have stiffer compression and rebound than stock. The B4s also suffered from having incorrect measurements upfront, putting the lower spring mount 15mm too high. This gives a weird rake to the car, and is very noticeable aesthetically. To my knowledge, after many years, this has yet to be a...

Re: 1997 v70 T5 Stutter at WOT on T5
So quick question: If I'm set up with M4.4 but have a FPR on the rail, what should my pressure be ? 35psi at idle ? If so then I'm getting a little too much pressure myself. Now back to Fiodor's problem... Yes...if FPR is stock. With factory setup,M4.4 cars have constant 43.5psi fuel pressure no ma...

Re: What did you do to your Volvo today?
I took off my snow tires (last week? time is meaningless) and found that one of my all-season tires had developed dimples on its sidewall. It’s toast, right? I'm no expert, but here's what the experts say about sidewall indentations: https://www.tirerack.com/tires/tiretech/techpage.jsp?techid=32 Sc...

Re: What did you do to your Volvo today?
I had a cracked fan shroud, so I went to the JY to find a replacement. I noticed a slight difference in the style of fan blades between the older and newer P80's. Not sure if one style is better than the other, but when I removed my existing shroud, I found that it has these air flaps that no of th...
