Re: Oil Changed - Serious questions
Probably Phillips 76.... brand name over here We don’t brand bash over here but The Euro / Asia split is pretty clean. I haven’t owned anything Asian since 86, and the claims of reliability and such are funny , given that automakers share supply chain My neighbor who claims his Toy transmission was ...

Re: Oil Changed - Serious questions
Age of the car is not important for me.As long as the car and it's engine are in excellent condition i always buy high quality oils and fluids for my cars.
If the engine is in bad condition...than i would use cheapest oil i could get.

Re: Oil Changed - Serious questions
You can get Mobil1 full synthetic at walmart for $4 a quart, so I really don't see the need to cheap out on oil. I buy Mann filters, but K&N also makes really good wrench-off oil filters, IMHO.

Re: Oil Changed - Serious questions
When changing to synthetic, I would keep a close look at the oil level. I'd check it no later than each week, even sooner at the beginning. My car drunk oil like crazy when I switched to synthetic, for the first 1-2 oil changes, then the level got stable back again

The red will power it to park position if power is cut off on yellow. The protection PTC resistor is what does the...

Re: Engine "Coughing" During Accleration?
Very typical of worn ignition parts. How old ( miles/time) are your Coil Spark plug wires Distributor cap Rotor Spark plugs ( Brandt new) Thanks for replying. I took it out for a drive and noticed the coughing is gone. I’ll need to drive it a few times to be sure. What’s a coil? As for the other pa...

Re: Engine "Coughing" During Accleration?
Allegedly platinum is best and lasts longer. Copper plugs don't last as long, but are usually cheap and perform well. I'm running bosch platinums because they were what was available locally. They perform as expected, but wouldn't say they perform better. Will see how long they last. Champion, NGK, ...

Thanks for replying. I took it out for a drive and noticed the coughing is gone. I’ll need to drive it a few times to be sure. What’s a coil? As for the other parts I’m not sure. I’d have to check my records. Rotor... as in brake rotors? When should one replace wires and distributor cap? More impor...
