Re: Front wheel bearing '05 XC70 observations and a question

side question about the wheel bearing job: are we able to change the front bearings on the xc70's without requiring removal of the strut to knuckle bolts or ball joint? I really want to avoid doing either of those again I was able to do it. A "universal joint" socket made it possible to r...

Re: PCV service turns into oil pan work.

Slacken the 3x M8 bolts on the VVT hub. They still should hold the sprocket, but you will need it later for fine tuning the angle. Attach the hub to the camshaft approx 90 degrees CCW to the marked position. Slightly tighten the big bolt. Rotate the hub CCW until the hub has no free play and you've ...

Re: Front wheel bearing '05 XC70 observations and a question

Yes, that's the "dust seal" part. Just did both front wheel bearings on my 07 XC70, and both dust seals. And both tone rings!

Then my T5 started experiencing this problem, so I feel it's probably a common issue. The solution was to bend the ground tabs o...

Re: Urgent Help Needed: 2004 V70 2.5T Limp Mode on Road Trip. CEM issue?

As an update for anyone who cares, I was able to drive the car without issue the remainder of the way by removing the cover and using a 12v fan to cool the CEM. It was displaying the clicking sound Xemodex mentions on their diagnostic flowchart, so I'll be sending the CEM off to them for a remanufac...
