Re: 03 v70 non-turbo catalytic converter
The OEM cat is huge (and heavy). What matters is the overall length of the whole section, from flange to flange and also the flange angle at the manifold. If the flanges don't fit parallel without forcing, I would return it because the flex pipe will be under stress and start leaking after a while. ...

Re: Rear Shock Recommendations
I used air gun to tighten the rear shock top nut. Thought it is was OK but turned out the shaft just spun and spun. So the nut was not tightened. Theoretically, spinning shaft can damage the new shock absorber too. The solution was T40 and open wrench. ALL the tricks are in the DIY I wrote for the r...

Re: Brake / Strut Replacement
I think it's always easier to work on both front wheels at once, even just for a brake job. It also helps reduce the sway bar torsion, still need a long pry bar to force it down when placing back the end links. Get two quality jack stands, cheap ones have shown to have irregular welds - this is almo...

Re: Recognize this sound?
Sounds like a tired vacuum pump. You may have a vacuum leak somewhere, one place to start is the 'switch' right in the center of the video with brown connector. On the switch, it says 'motor' on one side, make sure it's the hose that goes down towards the pump. If that's fine, may try replacing the ...

Re: Outer CV Boot Replacement
fcpeuro has a video on the inner CV boot. https://blog.fcpeuro.com/learn-how-to-replace-your-volvo-inner-cv-joint-boot The outer boot is pretty straight forward. It may or may not have an internal circlip which needs to be removed. Remove it and tap out the joint. Clean it all up and put boot on the...
