Re: Late P80 power steering fluid - Not listed on parts sites?
@ORO How much B-12 are you suggesting add to the PS before changing fluid? I put in about “a shot” - meaning literally an ounce and a 1/2. It’s a fairly strong solvent so I try to err on the conservative side with it, and not leave it in the system more than a day or two at the most. I have had (ve...

Re: Late P80 power steering fluid - Not listed on parts sites?
ATF is a high in detergent and is not call an oil but rather a fluid. People put them in motors before doing an oil change to clear more stuff out. Most Swepco products produce Tribofilm. Been around for a long time and it works. Along with the synergy of other additives it overcomes the minor fric...

Re: Late P80 power steering fluid - Not listed on parts sites?
Anybody else? III or VI? Up to and through 00, Dex III. 01+ 3309 / T-IV (same thing; Mobil created T-IV for Aisin w/the internal code “3309.”) T-IV is a friction modified, DexIII evolution. That’s why Dex III can be used to top up in an emergency (Aisin says so). But don’t do that unless a true eme...

Re: Late P80 power steering fluid - Not listed on parts sites?
. Please contribute with info to clarify and not take the obvious out of context so others aren't confused or taken on pointless tangents of the subject in the post. Would appreciate your effort in not distorting what I'm posting and in doing so turning it into nonsense for yourself and potentially...

Re: What did you do to your Volvo today?
Slowly getting my exterior detailed after long neglect. Today I refinished the lower body cladding and door strips with boiled linseed oil. I’ve done this before and it looks great and lasts a LONG time. Only downside is it takes a long time to dry, so I stuck the car in the garage for the weekend. ...

Re: Supplier for Plastic Interior Trim Parts?
…. The main difference to me is the door panels which on 98- P80's were they have the 2 part panels and they used the rubbish environmental glue. Rebuilding them with decent adhesive is not too terrible. Still better than the 850 pad on the door panel that will either split or the trim clip breaks ...

Re: What did you do to your Volvo today?
That work on the trim looks awesome. Good to know that some natural products work so well. Shame on the V70R most of the plastics with the exception of the roof trims, is body colored. Neil. Even more dramatic on my original XC. This car looked just as good 18 months after the photo when rear-ended...

Re: What did you do to your Volvo today?
…. For several years I look for a 2003-04 LS430 but gave up. They were either beat up or pristine and the pristine were pretty pricey. I finally gave up however after reading a few unintended acceleration problems so no longer on my bucket list of cars. The XC90 V8 on the other hand :D. …. . Basica...

Re: Supplier for Plastic Interior Trim Parts?
This irritated me quite a bit - the switchgear. I popped it all out a few years ago, cleaned it and I then clear-coated it and let it cure before popping back in. The clear-coat evens out the appearance of it and preserves the labels. Adds a harder protective coating so it doesn’t wear more. It real...

Re: How do I know which transmission my 07 XC70 has?
Thanks...what I'm trying to find is the exact transmission fluid to use for a fluid change... Mobil 3309 (“JWS3309”) in the correct fluid; dikidera is correct. Also Toyota T-IV or GM T-IV (exact same thing; re-branded). There are many 3309 knock-off fluids at this point (Idemitsu, Ravenol, etc., et...
