Re: Volvo Radio missing, Aftermarket fire smell issue!
You can fit any SC-XXX radio to your car. Being a 00 C70 it probably came with an SC-901 radio with the 3-CD changer. SC-900 was the earlier version of the same radio with a 3-CD player. People complained it was un-reliable in the CD changer. The issue was you need to clean the CD player laser from ...

Re: Volvo Radio missing, Aftermarket fire smell issue!
If you want to return this system to stock, start with figuring out what was there when it left the factory. If you don’t do a lot with car stereos, you’re probably in for some research time. The good news is that there is plenty of information here and at other Volvo sites to get you up to speed. O...

Re: Volvo Radio missing, Aftermarket fire smell issue!
Wiring diagram is your friend here. Even I managed to follow it! I built a speaker test box. The front speakers are individually wired. I think they are 8 ohm. That is on a V/S70 4 door car. C70 is a different beast unfortunately. They have the same dash small speakers but all the rest may be differ...

Re: Volvo Radio missing, Aftermarket fire smell issue!
That one wire (yellow/black or yellow /violet)) is only like that on underfloor amplifiers which I am familiar with. The reason for that is all the speaker connections go directly from the amplifier to the the speakers. When an amplifier is added to the radios, it was done using a long NLA wiring ha...

Re: Volvo Radio missing, Aftermarket fire smell issue!
In this link here, there is a picture of the Dolby processor and bracket that mount behind the radio under the dash. https://www.matthewsvolvosite.com/forums/viewtopic.php?t=93867 The thing I do not know, is if in the C70 with the larger non-underseat amplifier (as seen in the link above), Has a se...

Re: Volvo Radio missing, Aftermarket fire smell issue!
C70 is definitely different to the regular sedans and wagons. That amp is where I said it was. The speakers are normally fed straight from the amp. I think BJ gave you a wiring diagram for the layout. On 'regular' speakers there is a '+' and '-' or '1' and '2'. + and 1 are the '+ve' feed to the spea...

Re: Volvo Radio missing, Aftermarket fire smell issue!
I am sorry, but I have no idea where they are as I also did not know of them and when I went back to try to find them they had crushed the car. The part number for them is: 3533807 if that helps. This may help a little for locations. What is not helpful is that they normally leave the NLA part numbe...

Re: Volvo Radio missing, Aftermarket fire smell issue!
Everything you need to assess your speaker system at this point is in the trunk. Don’t sweat any of the details between the trunk and the speakers for now. There’s a good chance that it’s all still OK. At least if they left the stock speakers. Fingers Crossed. It looks like all the other guy did was...
