Re: Picked up probably the cheapest running V70R in new england
Actually other than the (many!!) missing mountings and bolts, the mechanical stuff does not look too bad in the pictures. I was working on a 96 850 a couple of weeks ago that we need to take for some welding stability to the rear of the rockers. Those rear bumper mounts are almost mint! The ones I h...

Re: Picked up probably the cheapest running V70R in new england
Viewing those pictures felt like giving a colonoscopy to bigfoot.
How did this car pass NH state inspection in 2019? Why are there chains on the front control arms? Is that spring-within-a-spring really held together by a hose clamp? So many questions...

Think I found a removable one...
My friend/former boss has a couple V70s picked-over parts cars, one has the same steering shaft I need, and it looks greasy and uncorroded. But it's a turbo and there's too much stuff in the way to get the pinch bolt out from above. I will hack out the rubber passthrough and maybe on Monday, with pe...

Thanks, that's a huge help. I was sure I'd have to run to the dealership for the discharge and recharge. A/C is pretty low on...

Re: Finally... P80 AWD Delta Link Rear Suspension Swap
https://www.swedespeed.com/threads/99-s70-complete-awd-removal.159179/ This post has some pictures on p1 and p4 about the half shafts. You'd separate the 2 CV axles from the axle itself and bolt them back in their respective places. The VC side so nothing leaks out. And the wheel hub side so that w...

Re: Finally... P80 AWD Delta Link Rear Suspension Swap
If it wasn't for the fuel tank nonsense and the lack of actual support for the AWD suspension stuff, I wouldn't mind having that instead of the Delta link set-up. I mean I do custom stuff all of the time for my cars anyway, but I have other projects to direct that energy towards. ( I would REALLY li...

Re: What did you do to your Volvo today?
Those valve faces look like they are burning and were on their way to failing. It is either caused by water sitting in the combustion chambers, pre-ignition, or running regular gas at highway or heavy load conditions. Add to that old valve stem seals possibly leaking then you can pick your choices. ...
