Re: Which serial number is for the s/w?
I located a 2004 XC90 at a local breaker. I had them pull the drivers master switch, swapped them in the parking lot and it fixed all my problems. The switch cost me $55. Problem solved. No software markings or label of the replacement unit. I did not check with VIDA, just happy it is now working.

Re: 2005 S60R No Start No Dash Lights No Remote Lock/Unlock
It's now been nearly a year since my last post on this thread, and I have a brief update. I DO believe I had a bad battery, and replacing it solved SOME electronic problems, but not all. Something else was going on. The intermittent "no crank, no start" issue had left me stranded numerous ...

Re: Significant inner CV axle radial play.
Some small update. Turns out it was not the axle, but litte ol' ball joint. I ordered a replacement part, only to get not the old style ball joint but the newer. So off we go to order to correct one finally.

So maybe I have to go to the dealer of find a mechanic with a volvo scanner Its so strange cause If I brake twice fast, the first brake is as I described in the post, but in the second brake the pedal has a lot more of "pressure" and it almost feels like there is no problem in the brakes....

Re: 2008 S60 T 2.5L FWD Stalled at stop light, crank no start
Hello Jonesg! She's running! I believe the injectors codes were thrown when I was powering up the connectors to test for voltage. Under that assumption I cleared all the codes and she started right up. The P0076 came back on but then cleared after I drove it around the block. Initially there was a s...

Re: Steering locks up mid turn, engine stalls
Alright, looks like the new power steering pump did the trick and the car is now fixed! One thing I noticed was that the hose clamp on the suction hose from the reservoir to the ps pump was loose and the pump was likely intermittently sucking in air and momentarily stalling the engine. I used to hav...

2006 S60 2.5T AWD: turbo rebuild notes
Making a separate thread of this, because it's basically an addendum to the existing guide for doing a turbo rebuild yourself. Here's the existing guide: https://www.matthewsvolvosite.com/refurbish-a-volvo-turbo/ The original author, Peter - and, thank you - sourced a used turbo, rebuilt it, and the...

Re: Can't find fuel filter '05 V70 N/A
If the car ran dry of fuel, the fuel pump may have burned up, and is very weak now.
