I keep High Low beam bulbs in my cars center storage area. I've had a few go out 200 miles from home, so its nice to be able to pull over and change it. I still swear and complain changing any bulb on my V70...lol

100 hours is indeed low (ok, like you originally posted!). I'm not aware of relevant issues known to plague the P2 cars like your V70. Closing the story on this issue now. I bought a generic receptacle with pig tails from the local parts store, then took off front bumper cover to remove headlight assembly so wiring could be done indoors with sufficient space. After reassembly bulb lights, so I will button up the bumper cover tomor...

I seem to recall having some issues with the receptacle as well. Can't quite remember that I replaced it with (amazon, ebay) or maybe I just snipped one off from the junkyard. Also recall something about getting ceramic receptacles. Sorry, my memory is failing me at the moment.
