**A printable PDF of this procedure can be downloaded here:** PCV repair.pdf As any engine runs, there are gases from the top of the cylinders that escape past the piston rings and into the crankcase system. These gases are illegal in most countries to vent into the atmosphere. Therefore, some kind ...

ECC climate control "Blinky Lights" solved--Driver's Damper
I fixed the "2 1 1" code on my '97 855 GLT by removing and cleaning the contacts inside the damper motor, saving ~$30 for a used damper and ~$100 for a new one. This fix is very similar to what what phat78ta wrote up here: https://www.matthewsvolvosite.com/forums/viewtopic.php?f=1&t=27...

Re: Banjo bolt delete?
I did it exactly as you describe. Brass nipple to bypass the coolant loop in the banjo bolt, still using the bolt for the PCV. It's effectively the setup from the factory before 99. I'm only a few thousand miles into this arrangement, so far so good. Just check the PCV every 25k instead of 50k and ...

Re: Fuel pump relay age
Ah, you’ve been caught by the “ bastards”
Fuel pump management changed in 1999 and the relays live longer. I run four 1999s all in original relays

Re: Coolant flush
It takes about 15 minutes to completely flush. I just idle it with a hose going into the reservoir, pet cock open, so that I have flow out of th e radiator Down low as well as out of the top,of the reservoir. Don’t walk away or talk on the phone, if the hose slips out, you destroy your engine If you...

Re: Coolant flush
I have stood on the shoulders of many here.
You can flush with the petcock closed so you know the water is going through. You can loosen the lower rad hose clamp and periodically dump it too, it won’t be too hot.
It’s not rocket science , or all Volvos would be on Saturn getting a ring job
