Re: heated seat relay
Noone? I'll try.... I've only had my 96 for about a week. I've noticed the seats don't seem to get very warm. Much more subtle warmth than I expected, but I've got about this much >< experience with heated seats except the hot seats I got from my dad when I was a naughty kid. In general a relay wou...

Re: New Volvo 850 Purchase!
My daughter broke the original cup holder from trying to squeeze larger beverages into it. I purchased this replacement and it actually allows for larger cups since it uses opened circles and flexes a little more. Was very easy to take apart the armrest and swap them out. https://www.ebay.com/itm/V...

Re: Pipe corrosion, odd bolt, extra bolts ?
I just did my timing belt tonight, and both of the bolts in the lower cover were those weirdo bolts with the long shank. 10mm head, I think. As soon as I removed them, I was reminded of this thread. They even had the bit of red looking compound on the threads. Unfortunately, I chewed the head up of ...

Re: New Volvo 850 Purchase!
Today, I dumped in a bottle of Gunk High Mileage fuel Injector Cleaner and filled the tank up with Premium in preparation for the cars maiden voyage to work tomorrow. 100 miles round trip.

Re: New Volvo 850 Purchase!
Sorry for the confusion. I think they call them guide pins instead of slide pins. Cleaning up the caliper with a wire brush and painting it along with greasing those pins with brake/caliper grease cured my brake squeal. I tried getting the loose stuff out, with a flat blade screw driver, a wire bru...

Re: What did you do to your Volvo today?
Washed it, for the first time! ...well took it through a newly built automatic carwash near my house, actually. I wanted to get the salt off of it. Then when I got home, I decided I wanted to get the outside temperature in Fahrenheit, and accidentally discovered how to set the clock too. I had to Go...

Re: New Volvo 850 Purchase!
I checked the oil today. I'm not used to driving a vehicle that I don't have to constantly add oil to.
I've got an o-ring for the top of the dipstick coming from Ipd, because the original looks a bit flat, and o-rings are cheap.

Re: P80 P2 Coolant pipe o-ring & install 976045
I would not stress over a piece of o-ring being in there, if you don't happen to find it.

Re: 1996 850 engine revs without accelerating or shifting gears
.... the engine would occasionally rev up to 3000 RPM soon after I started driving and was still going 15-20 mph... This sounds like a transmission issue to me, not engine controls, although you do mention the TPS changing the behavior negatively. How did you clean the throttle body and TPS? Check ...

Re: 850 6 CDs charger
Were the o-rings loose inside the CD changer ? They would seem to be out of place. Another member of our little tribe was having problems with a radio with the CD player, and once he got it out og the car and shook it, some coins fell out. Maybe your o-rings are the result of some child's adventure...
