Re: What did you do to your Volvo today?
A little disappointed that I've found an Aisin thermostat is a reboxed Mahle. It's made in Germany, but doesn't really look all that impressive to me. Maybe it'll still work great.

Re: where do you keep your phone in your 850?
Mine goes on the passenger seat. seriously? my phone won't stay there for half a mile the way I drive. And then it's somewhere where I can't reach while driving. Back around 2000 they made these nice custom phone holders that would moint the phone next to the head unit, usually mounted on the outsi...

Yes, I broke one before I even realized what was happening. That's why I decided to buy all four new. This 3d printed part looks fantastic if it works well.bmdubya1198 wrote: ↑08 Apr 2024, 08:56 Yet another great 3D printed part idea! This is a a super common failure point.

Re: What did you do to your Volvo today?
Put in an IPD order yesterday for some trim clips and decided I'd order a few other cheap items, too. The strap on my windshield washer bottle lid is broken, so I ordered a new one. I figured a couple of oil fill gaskets would be a good idea, since I can't find the extra one ordered last time..... a...

I also went to the auction house, and briefly looked at more Volvos and other vehicles. They've got a couple S40s that are possibilities, and also an S60. I also saw a Suburban with a ...

Re: What did you do to your Volvo today?
That cap doesn't look to be worn, but rather it has deposits on it. I'd bet the rotor is what was worn. When I re-newed my ignition, my new cap hadn't arrived yet. I cleaned the original cap, but the rotor had metal missing. The car ran fine with a new rotor and cleaned cap. I did eventually get a n...

Re: Liquid Moly engine flush? Volvo 850 1996
After watching Lake Speed Jr's videos I'm not going to run additives in my oil anymore, unless it's shortly before I change the oil. What happens is that additives dilute the oil manufacturers built in additives to the oil (oil is never just oil). Just like the dose makes the poison, or the medicine...
