A little disappointed that I've found an Aisin thermostat is a reboxed Mahle. It's made in Germany, but doesn't really look all that impressive to me. Maybe it'll still work great.

Often times you won't on a hot engine. It evaporates before it gets that far. That's one of the reasons I recommend using a pressure tester.

That cap doesn't look to be worn, but rather it has deposits on it. I'd bet the rotor is what was worn. When I re-newed my ignition, my new cap hadn't arrived yet.
