Re: What did you do to your Volvo today?

The carpet on the drivers side of my V70 had a hole worn through it (I still don't really know how or why, but I bought it like that). Bild_2024-07-07_223744637.png Since carpetry is not really my strength, it took some time to figure out a solution that is in the realm of my capabilities. So first ...

Re: What did you do to your Volvo today?

Slowly getting my exterior detailed after long neglect. Today I refinished the lower body cladding and door strips with boiled linseed oil. I’ve done this before and it looks great and lasts a LONG time. Only downside is it takes a long time to dry, so I stuck the car in the garage for the weekend. ...

Re: Bulb indicator light - why?

I would say any time a wack will fix the light issue, you have a bad connection.
But it is satisfying for a little while. It usually fixes the temperature and fuel level on my 240 Volvo.

I was supposed to go to a car meeting in Falkirk tonight but just before turning onto the motorway where I stay I noticed the traffic was at a standstill and backed up so a change of plan, I went in the opposite direction and went for a drive where I managed to get a few evening pics as the sun was ...

Re: Prize 850 went dead

I also tried jumping it from a running 850, jumper cables clamped to the dead 850 cable connectors, nothing lit up. And I tried using a jumper cable from the negative battery post to a ground on the engine that was probably not the best ground. That actually lit things up for a few seconds with all ...

Re: What did you do to your Volvo today?

With regard to the 'Stilson' question. Here are pictures of the Swedish (better) equivalent: PXL_20241118_174537061.jpg PXL_20241118_174557846.jpg While I own what is considered the 'Stilson' style pipe wrench, I always preferred these as they are just easier to work with and adjust. You can also cl...

Re: What did you do to your Volvo today?

I bought a 1997 850 T5 a couple of days ago for $400.00. It's a beater but starts and runs reasonable well....turbo works etc...PVC clogged and missing the headlight assembly both sides. So I will be in the market for them if anyone has a pair to sell. I'd like to have glass lens if possible. Also w...

No on that contact cleaner question. The electrical part of the switch sits to the left and is isolated from the tumblers

Re: Volvo 850 - Mirrors not heating + Chairs

Most up here do. Can't be sure in US. You can check the wiring to the mirror or see if you can see leads running to the back of the mirror glass. They fail eventually. There are aftermarket options out there. They turn on with the rear defrost if you have them.
