Re: Door locks quit, CEL came on, won’t start now.

So, related to the imobilizer? Did I bump the key fob wrong or something? I may go have it scanned and clear the airbag code, that’s random. It has a new steering wheel bag done at a dealer. Funny - there IS a dealer here where we’re visiting. They once gave my car a sideways look and said they cou...

Re: 2001 V70 T5 - Slipping AW55 Solutions?

I’d give LubeGuard Shudder Fixx a try. May be a long shot but lots of good Amazon reviews. https://www.amazon.com/Lubegard-19610-Tranny-Instant-Shudder/dp/B00337DUEU/ref=mp_s_a_1_3?crid=LH51QZ81WW4O&dib=eyJ2IjoiMSJ9.DnFIr1xS4lE1UWZZxWE6Z565SWd5Su1RykasjlAyx5Rjw5Sl288-Z2sXIYadiiaVmWK_wQ2JGc86Dcbg...

Re: Parts brands - OE Volvo, trusted aftermarket, and bad

IMHO lots of people started recently to buy volvo only due to the fact that BMW, AUDI, MB started to make absolute nightmare in temrs of reliability and cost of ownership (lets be honest, people that can afford those cars usually not worrying about extra 10-15K initial price tag difference between ...

Re: What did you do to your P2 Volvo today?

Trying to determine when next series of oil changes are due on the kids’ three P2s…I asked my youngest how many miles were on the 05 XC90, reply — “a lot”. I suppose that is a fair reply when the last change was at 209,000 miles. I think I might make my life easy and just setup a 6 month schedule a...

Re: 2011 Volvo XC70 Windshield Washer Fluid Doesn't Work

Possible your new pump could be bad. I’d have a friend hit the washer button and check power at the connector.

Re: 2007 XC70 (P2) - Excessive Vibrations Under Acceleration

I know many have not had good results with off brand CV axles but I’ve had decent results with TRQ brand ones.

On engine mounts make sure to go with Volvo or OEM brands like those on FCPEuro. I took a chance on the front and rear round ones and vibration was worse than my old OEM ones.

Re: Persistent Check Engine light, but no codes thrown - 2001 S60

My code reader is a Volvo specific iCarSoft off Amazon, works well for my use and easy to keep in car vs a laptop.

Re: Engine oil leak(s) - 08 XC90 V8 Sport - R-design

Kids 05 XC90 2.5T would leave an oil puddle size of a US half dollar when parked. Had vacuum so PCV was functioning. I ran two oil changes with AT-205 which stopped the leak. Then switched to Valvoline MaxLife and it has not came back.

If you are struggling to find root cause may be worth a try.

Re: Non-Volvo car chat megathread

Pieced together a winter tire set for my truck this year. $200 for really clean Nissan takeoffs and $300 for a set of 2023 Firestone WinterForce 2s with only 2000 miles on them. My Yokohama Geolander G015 all terrains are decent in snow but about half worn and not great on ice. Size of new to me win...

Re: Thoughts on Injector Cleaner?

I’ve found Berryman B12 to improve fueling and pick up a little bit of gas mileage. I’ve also used Marvel Mystery Oil which isn’t as strong but not super expensive and seems to help my vehicles run smoother. YMMV.
