One item I should add, is in my experience the paint holds up very well on the P2s, no rust on my cars with two spending their life in Iowa with plenty of salt.
The black plastic trim does fade terribly on the earlier P2s, my 08 S60 has all painted trim which is better.

Re: Fuel leaking from tank 2004 XC90
Worth getting a second opinion. I’ve grown to like my kids 05 XC90 too.
Could at least start by pulling the seat to verify pump access. Then can decide where to proceed and whether your cup should only be 3/4 full lol.

Re: Fuel leaking from tank 2004 XC90
Referenced earlier, there was a recall for pumps, 2001-2005, plenty of conditions relating to the recall and just to mention in passing since this is an '04- https://static.nhtsa.gov/odi/rcl/2009/RCMN-09V483-9234.pdf Fuel smell from the rear is probably the seal or a cover crack as has been noted e...

With the original post only going back to 2016, do oil threads go back before the origin of the internet?

Re: We're keeping our cars on the road longer
It’ll be interesting to see how this data evolves. Maybe I’m getting old but while I like the idea of a new car the payments are just a deal breaker. Many just don’t have the means for a new car anymore, and frighteningly some can’t fix their car either. I do however get satisfaction in seeing how g...

Re: Subframe Bushing installation with pictures
Good point about not pushing directly on the rubber tabs. When pushing directly on the plastic with the 4 nuts, did the plastic lip feel solid enough ? I don't know why Volvo recommends such a complicated press tool to get these things in as its quite simple to come up with something like you did t...

Re: Pulling to the left, 2004 V70
Just did subframe bushings, well worth doing to improve ride and handling. Same goes for lower control arms. I’d say both of these are needed on P2 chassis cars with 150k miles. Only downside is you should do an alignment after control arms. Check inner tie rod joints and swaybar links for slop whil...

Re: 2002 V70 (SRI - Service Reminder Indicator)
If that won’t work a ~$150 iCarSoft reader for Volvo off Amazon will reset it. My 2.0 version of it will on P1 & P2s.
