Re: The repo man cometh
Whether through good fortune or a product of my ill-spent childhood, I've never borrowed to buy a car. I have also never traveled without a tool kit.

Re: 2003 XC 70 key won't turn in the ignition at all.
There are 4 P2 Volvos in my house (wife, kids college).
All of them had the bottom plate removed.
It is a permanent fix.
Zero issues whatsoever.

Re: Opinions wanted: Do I go through with this repair?
Thanks everyone. Appointment booked. To be honest, I love the car and deep down I knew I was going to go through with the work before I asked, I just wanted to hear more knowledgeable folks out on if I was being a total fool or not. You’ve all inspired me to tackle a control arm job myself, so that’...

Re: Engine clunks sometimes when accelerating after braking.
All of them are new. Varying brands so not volvo, but I believe one of the two causes accelerated damage to the other. So a shot lower torqurod places a lot of strain on the top one and vice versa. But also a problematic transmission that shifts oddly say jerking between P and R would also accelerat...

Re: 2023 edition How many miles did you drive your P80/P2 over Thanksgiving?
Happy Thanksgiving!
Loaded the back of the 98 with some firewood, a mix of well seasoned oak, maple and ash, and drove 5 miles across town to exchange it for food, drink and company. What a bargain!

Re: Bumper and trim restore? What do I use?
Several weeks ago, in a hurry I used a tire shine on the trim and it worked but super greasy. I've also tried transmission fluid years ago and basically anything greasy or oily will coat the trim temporarily making it look good. The coating of a ceramic would be good. The ACF-50 is supposed to cree...

Re: C30 Water Leakage
UPDATE
The water leak in my vehicle was due to the boot stopper. I insulated it and reattached it, and I'm happy to report that there are no more leaks.

Re: Cold Concrete & Your Back
I seem to have a lifetime cardboard creeper supply deal with Amazon. My wife may have arranged that.

Vehicle Buying Maximalism
"Vehicle Buying Maximalism" -- a phenomenon that leads to ownership of generally very large vehicles that cover 99% of use cases, but the edge use activities within that use case continuum represent less than 1% of actual daily driving tasks. There. I just coined a term that you'll find i...

Re: What did you do to your P2 Volvo today?
I finally got my volvo put back together. I replaced the left/driver control arm, ball joint, and axle. The control arm was pretty hard to bend to connect to the ball joint, but I eventually found that keeping the wheels straight instead of all the way to the left like in the 1A auto video allowed m...
