For sure take the transmission with it. Take angle gear as well, it may have less splines damage than yours. Perhaps steering rack, too, but pay attention if any wheel was forcibly moved - these racks don't like that. Remove the front end. Cut off downpipe. Remove all cables from the engine. Support...

When the engine is in new garage - do yourself a favor and replace the rear main seal and exhaust manifold gaskets. Everything else is accessible, but especially RMS is a pain to do when the engine is in the bay.

The worst part will be getting that crunched front end out of the way. It’s toght getting these up and out so any metal pushed in will have to be cleared

AC is evacuated on the donor due to accident damage, but I'll have to work carefully with that on the recipient when I remove that engine. Get a box or two of "OPK12 Rubber Vacuum Cap Assortment (90 Pcs / 6 Sizes)" on Amazon, they are very handy for plugging all kinds of holes, like in PS pump or transmission heat exchanger hoses.

You're on track and received Odin's blessing! I did that in cold December as well
Both wagons would not fit in garage, and for some things I needed them face to face, so often had to work with the garage door opened and snow blowing in my face.

^^^ yowch! VolvoDJ - I have some sawzall blades that will cut through anything - hardened steel, whatever. I was amazed when I tried them. Diablo brand "Steel Demon." 8 TPI. "6" extreme metal cutting" "Carbide tipped for thick metal cutting." They're bright red.
