Re: Water in Transmission
I do not see that anyone mentioned the likely cause of coolant in your transmission. Most likely the transmission oil cooler has a leak between trans fluid and coolant. This must be fixed before any other fix is attempted. volvolugnut I replaced the radiator last night, and then flushed 24 quarts o...

Re: What did you do to your P2 Volvo today?
Via programming the ecu. It's not entirely straightforward either. But yeah 75% is normal for NA engines, while 85 86% for turbo.

Re: Water in Transmission
There was indeed such a thread but I also cannot find it. Be prepared for the trans to slip as it may already have too little clutch material.

Re: Water in Transmission
The other method ain't so bad either. Don't remove transmission, just transmission oil pan(may require slight hang of the subframe). Remove the valve body, should be easy. Then use the oil return hose, fill it with diesel and use a powerful air compressor to flush back the gunk. I know people who've...

Re: Vida CEM swapping
It has been a long while, but here is an updated IDB of Denso reverse engineering progress. It contains the memory map stitched as seen by the ECU, as well as 1000 named functions/variables/items. Some may be wrongly named, some have a question mark meaning I am unsure. The RE was done on software v...

Re: Replaced thermostat- no heat, perfect engine temp
Just so you know, Volvo use a smoothed value for coolant temp. The needle on the odometer may be perfectly vertical at 60c-70c, way before working temp. Meaning a stuck thermostat. But, I have had this happen to me when I replaced the heater core. I had to wait for the car open the thermostat severa...

Re: Replaced thermostat- no heat, perfect engine temp
Dumping? To burp the car you don't need to drain anything. And yes, the coolant value is smoothed. The needle is full vertical well before operating temp and stays there up to 125c engine temp.

Re: Head gasket replacement questions
It is indeed a lot. As far as I know the max machining is like half of that according go other engines in Vida.
My 2005 s60 head was machined 0.14mm. Of your head was so warped as to require that much I wonder what happened or like did you hear wrong?

Re: Engine quit while driving!
A power supply issue? Maybe a loose ECM?
