Re: ECU/TCU removal from a P2 - How?
I recommend a T25 torx (in the shape of an 'r') for getting it inside the rails and a long flat screwdriver with which to push the other rails. Works every time for me and I've had them out at least 10 times.

Re: What did you do to your P2 Volvo today?
Bought a used HU-650 and god my radio working again! My god the difference this unit has over the faulty HU-650 I had, louder volume, more bass, less crackling. Jesus christ is it amazing.

Re: Vida CEM swapping
I have received my Temic 29.1 with part code 30735493. But I am away from home so my research/progress will take a few days to start. I will use fenugrec's kernel with modifications to load into the SH7055S(180 nanometer node).

Volvo Module Dump Thread
I know this isn't specific to XC90, but considering the popular CEM swapping thread and the technical discussions and hacking over there I decided to create this thread. The other forum sections are less popular. If Matthew of course allows this thread to remain here or if he wishes, he could move i...

Re: Vida CEM swapping
My first experiment with the altered firmware was that the gearbox would engage first gear, but somehow the accelerator was ignored. I would slam the accelerator and something would immediately bring it down. As if something was inhibiting it. Either there was something in EEPROM related to signal c...

Re: Vida CEM swapping
Tomorrow I will test my TCM changes. In the meantime I have found this document which may help with figuring out some stuff. The below image is from TF-60SN but they mention the control logic is the same. https://i.imgur.com/ULweASp.png By also reading the patent document for the five speed more inf...

Re: P2 Multiple RPM signals, one pegs at 6,000 RPM
Take out the turbine speed and output shaft speed sensors and give them a clean. Usually they gunk up with metal particles. It could also be a failed such sensor. There is a engine rpm sensor, an input sensor for turbine speed which is what the sensor uses to determine slippage and an output shaft s...

Re: Vida CEM swapping
I am pleased to announce I have disabled slip lockup. The slip lockup maps now become the default full lockup maps. There is only slight slip lockup during engaging of the torque converter and possibly during shifting, which is normal and required.

Re: Vida CEM swapping
Constant reflashing will be hassle for certain things and I wonder if it isn't possible to add some detours to certain functions to modify critical constants. Or perhaps use the User Break Controller to intercept certain memory addresses and overwrite the fetched data, creating an easily programmabl...

Re: Pre cat O2 sensor reading always 1.00.
This is fine. Anyway, 1.00 is not VOLTS, it's Lambda, the stoichometric fuel ratio, stoich is good. Anything above lambda 1.00 is considered LEAN. Anything below 1.00(such as 0.98) is considered rich, for a wide-band oxygen sensor. All fuels require lambda 1.0 except in high RPM where liquid fuels h...
