I haven't tried datalogging yet, so I don't know if it is normal to repeat the request.
The ETM I have on my desk does not need and SBL to read data with checksum command in programming mode.
I can also read with BB-command.
12 BB 00 40 00 10 reads 0x10 bytes from address 0x004000

Re: Humor me for a bit.
Not to familiar with electronic methods but just run a dry pump. It should show no resistance. Worst case you remove the internals and leave it just with the bearing and pulley
Why do you want an electric pump?

Re: Vida CEM swapping
I see it very often that an old GCC (before ~4.4 or so) is/was used in vendor's SDKs. GCC didn't have Static Single Assignment that avoids unnecessary copies you've mention, and peephole optimization as well, which utilizes CPU's pipeline better by tossing the instructions slightly so they would pro...

Re: New to us 2004 XC70 with coolant in the oil. Likely head gasket, do I need to look out for anything else?
There is someone local to me trying to sell an 07 XC70 with a coolant leak. My first thought was a possible damaged cylinder or cracked block. Is that a P2 thing? I nearly bought a XC90 with the 2.5T motor from a Volvo dealer but during their inspection they found a cracked block. They couldn't unde...

Re: Exhaust manifold to catalytic converter nuts and studs rust welded
Get that OXS out of the way, then Dremel off the nuts with a big slot, the bang with a chisel until the break Those studs look horrible, but will likely be ok to re use, Volvo used really good steel on these If slotting the nuts kisses the studs a bit, they will still work fine Three cycles of hot /...

Re: How to test a battery cable?
I have seen/read stuff on this, but how do you test a battery cable to know if it is good? As anyone who knows and has removed one of these cables, it is a major pain as Volvo routes the +ve cable though a couple of metal ties that have to be removed, but then also through the main wiring harness a...

2004 V70 - DTC 4201 - O2 Sensor Graph Reading Assist Requested
So, I keep getting DTC ECM-4201: "Three-way catalytic converter (TWC) efficiency - Power deterioration". But the car runs fine, no other codes, nothing wrong with fuel/oxygen mix, so it seems to be a sensor. So, cleared the error, drove 1.5 hrs to Philly in the rain, and halfway back, the ...
