Re: Glueing Volvo plastics (broken bumper clips for ex)...
Where do you get abs sheets of plastic? Do you melt it (or the zip tie) with a heat gun or soldering iron? Best bet is to get the same plastic part from the junkyard, it is almost the only way to ensure you get the correct plastic that will bond well. I think the zip-tie solution will be hit and mi...

Re: Glueing Volvo plastics (broken bumper clips for ex)...
I bought a cheap Harbor Freight plastic welder (mostly just blows very hot air) to repair a crack in a plastic fuel tank. As said above, the correct plastic is critical - look for the manufacturing codes molded into the part. And it was a messy process - not something for an exposed finish surface. ...

Where do you get abs sheets of plastic? Do you melt it (or the zip tie) with a heat gun or soldering iron? . Oh sorry, an inexpensive generic soldering iron has worked well. Most come with several tips to choose from. There are specialty soldering irons for mending plastic. As several members have ...

Re: Can I go on driving a bit longer with worn and worn a bit more tires or will I damage my AWD?
. The video left out one parameter which MUST be met in order to get a correct alignment. I have attached a diagram to explain. Most cars do not have the same Track Width front and back. Assuming you don't have any suspension damage. You must establish that the Red strings are parallel so the Green ...

Re: Can I go on driving a bit longer with worn and worn a bit more tires or will I damage my AWD?
Thanks. I'm the one who put the bad ones at the back and the good ones at the front after I bought the car. I can't recall where they were before that but the previous owner had just switched his winter tires and put on these summer ones. I believe he kept track of where each one was removed the pr...

I’ve had decent luck with used tires on eBay. Gotten some clearance sets on tire rack for cheap too, and they will ship free to a Discount Tire if you have one near you.

Re: Can I go on driving a bit longer with worn and worn a bit more tires or will I damage my AWD?
Thanks again. I know there's a worn component, either a ball joint of tie rod end. I'll have to get that seen to, or see to it before checking the alignment. You wrote earlier that my particular model doesn't have the same issue re needing exact same size tires as previous generations did. What cha...

Re: Can I go on driving a bit longer with worn and worn a bit more tires or will I damage my AWD?
Many of these AWD cars are now FWD bc of stripped angle gear sleeve anyway.
If your car is now FWD, then keep driving it.
Otherwise, 4 new tire.
And sell the 2 good used tires.
