Re: I’ve almost given up, but then I saw this one..
Looks great, a loved T5 that got fixed when needed. You should get a good 5 years from this car if you stay on top of it Once a month , the hood goes up and you check all over the engine for leaks of oil , coolant, power steering fluid, and ATF. In the next three months, replace that ATF using the G...

Re: I’ve almost given up, but then I saw this one..
That looks to have a persistent P0455 code. Seeing as they "found no leaks", I'm guessing it would be above the tank. It's not a real issue, but annoying. My wife's '97 GLT had a P0455 code for 3-4 years until I finally traced it to a chewed up hose on top of the tank. It looks like it was...

Re: I’ve almost given up, but then I saw this one..
Great job getting the car. And the original sticker too! When someone keeps the original sticker, it tells me they care that much more than the typical car owner. Get any issues sorted, do the preventative maintenance that abscate recommended (and a monthly check of tire pressure and bi-monthly chec...

Re: I’ve almost given up, but then I saw this one..
Kesha brought this by over the weekend, and it's a pretty nice car. Needs a couple small things, but nothing major stood out. The only code I pulled was a P0410 code for the SAS. The pump is running, but there may be an issue with the check valve or vac lines. Didn't have much time to dig into it. S...

Re: Radiator piece broke off into hose? 98’ S70
Hey Kesha.
Yeah, a new radiator is going to be the fix, unfortunately,
Usually not a difficult job, as long as the bolt holding the radiator to the body aren't terribly rusted.

Re: 98 s70 hard idling/stuttering
Assuming the mechanics fitted the correct plugs and gapped them correctly, the wires can be an issue but the old OE Bougicords don't go wrong often unless they are damaged. They don't last forever, but it is uncommon for cables to shut the engine down. Misfires on cylinders yes, but not whole engine...

Re: 98 s70 hard idling/stuttering
fuel pressure would be my first check. How old is the fuel filter?

Re: 98 s70 hard idling/stuttering
I would say a decision needs to be made if you want to dive into more DIY and fix your car yourself or trust some run of the mill mechanics. I know there are good mechanics out there, but normally you need to develop a pretty good relationship with them before they start really listening to the deta...

Re: 98 s70 hard idling/stuttering
I don't believe it would be any harm. At least it may help point to the filter or fuel lines maybe the issue if it makes an improvement. Fairly cheap and something you can easily do yourself and no tools needed!
