Re: What did you do to your P2 Volvo today?

Seems like everyone is putting the winters on this week. Just put my Michelin X-ice's on yesterday and pulled the block heater cord through the grill for easy access and installed some Bosch ICON wipers. P80GLT; what vehicle are your 17 inch rims off of? And what type of winter road conditions exist...

Re: What did you do to your P2 Volvo today?

Clocks go back on Sunday so winter is officially upon us therefore I decided to put the winter wheels/tyres on even though it's a toasty 13°C today. Thor wheels with 225/45R17 Goodyear EfficientGrip Performance 2 removed ready to be cleaned and stored. Thor.jpeg Replaced with Mimas wheels with 205/...

Re: What did you do to your P2 Volvo today?

VVT engines with automatic gearboxes do not produce as much vacuum as non VVT manual cars VVT and gearbox type are irrelevant. Your engine is turbo, it runs with no vacuum in intake manifold when turbo spools. Early P2 w/ 2.4T engines didn't have brake booster vacuum pump in the first years, but th...

Re: Identify this part - fuel system?

Thanks, that's an old picture from when I bought the car (wrong coolant in expansion bottle) Doesn't look much different now but there's been a lot of work done and it now has Volvo green coolant EngineBayV70.jpg [/quote] I was going to comment on the wiring routing around the top of the radiator on...

We save another 30% using Canadian pennies here! Yes I could have saved an additional 80% if I used 1p coins, however they are not made from bronze alloy of copper any longer and modern equivalents are subject to corrosion in harsh environments due to being made from copper plated steel You guys ov...

Time to change over the plush carpet mats for my winter rubber mats/trays. Re: Identify this part - fuel system?

Yes! that is the same sound that I hear. Except it's constantly running, not pausing as in your video. The brake pedal is stiff (with engine off), but since the pump is not pausing, I'm guessing there might be a small leak somewhere. Thanks! Either a vacuum leak or the switch is faulty. Best sort i...

Re: What did you do to your P2 Volvo today?

My V70 experienced about the same temperature this morning, although I called it 24 F. It turned over just fine and after scrapping some frost, we went out for breakfast before dawn.
This afternoon it got a much needed transmission drain and refill of 3 quarts. It was a nasty color.
