Re: New scanner

I am currently leaning towards Thinkcar. It looks more capable and covers way more cars(since maybe tomorrow you will buy Toyota crown wagon etc...)it likely will be $200 more but looks more capable. Also Topdon is offering 15% for father's day now. If you can wait, "Amazon days" offer th...

Re: Dipstick pops out

@dikidera, Even though the glove test passed? It failed, you just didn't test it fully :) Turbo engines have not one, but two PCV contours. One works when there's a vacuum in intake manifold, another works under boost. You didn't check it under boost. Have a buddy/wife/son filming the glove while y...

Re: Alternator + DIM coincidence? 2007 V70

Have you replaced the voltage regulator with the correct one?

Late P2 electronics is mostly top-notch in terms of under/over voltage protection.

Re: Dipstick pops out

My understanding is many manual trans cars have a safety neutral switch to preventing starting a car in gear. You have to press the clutch down to over ride the neutral switch before the car will start. Still not sure like you, how that would work on a manual car other than putting in gear and slipp...

Re: power loss, fluctuation C70 2.4t

Check Rick's reply to another owner in this thread. It is where I would suggest to start. Both errors point to fuel trim issues. https://www.matthewsvolvosite.com/forums/viewtopic.php?t=83849 Then there is this one as well. It is also thorough. https://www.volvoforums.org.uk/forum/technical-topics/-...

Re: 2005 S60 AWD Turbo - Coil Springs

I agree Vova585. Toyotas and Hondas don't seem to suffer from these issues but I will say that up until I bought these garbage struts from Sachs, I've NEVER had one break on my S60 or my 96 850. Thanks for the answers and hey, we all need a bit of venting every now and then.

Cheers!

Re: Losing the battle, 2000 V70 GLT 2.4T

I went and redid the job. It seems like whatever coating that came on the spark plugs just messed them up. Took them all out and cleaned the crap off and what I could in get to in the motor. Put them all back and it was fine again. No codes still atm.

Re: ABS Activating Constantly After Hub Bearing Replacement – 1999 S70 Base

If the tone rings on the axle are rusty they will trigger abs sensor faults, so get the axles off and new tone rings on, about $5 each plus labour. You are in western Ny so they are all rusty
