Re: 1998 v70 is it possible to remove rear axles permanently ?
Do the delta link swap to make the car permanently FWD. Saves a few hundred lbs, deletes all the NLA AWD crap, boost mileage, makes for easy manual swaps, etc. Solves so many issues and is doable in a couple days with a same-year FWD parts car and some wrenching skills. Easily the best thing I've do...

Re: Help with ECM 1998 V70 manual wagon
Oh geez. It’s a ‘98, it’s rather simple. First off, PCM isn’t terminology used by Volvo or people that work on them, so that tells me his experience level with these things. Second, if the guy is probing stuff for power before doing simple checks, that confirms to me that he has absolutely no idea h...

Re: Switching out the whole rear end of my 1999 volvo v70xc. AWD TO FWD?'s
This is a fantastic and well-documented swap. Did it myself on my ‘98 AWD, and the car is so much better for it. It’s a straightforward and relatively simple swap. Took me a couple days. Getting a parts car of the same year is the way to go.

Re: Compatible Rear Driveshafts for 1997-2000 V70 awd
In plain text as follows. Note this is for V70, and the VIN splits are different for S70.
Early 98 (flat flanges) is up to chassis no 482681
Chassis 482682 up to 630091 take the late 98 - 99 driveshaft
630092 and up take the 2000 driveshaft

Re: M56 noise V70 1998
Sounds like rollover rattle. Common and normal with a single mass flywheel, uncommon with dual mass. If it is dual mass, the two pieces may have seized together, which I have seen before. No real cause for concern. If your transmission is external slave, it’s single mass. If internal slave, it’s alm...

Re: Chaosrob 1999 v70R 601 save, Going to need a lot of parts, lot of help and do a lot of reading..
I believe they are factory 99 wheels on the R, at least I have seen three others with wheels like that It's down but I need to do a thorough cleaning of the tank so I am going to wait until tomorrow to put it all back together. Questions: 1)Are the bolts that secure the subframe to the body reusabl...

Thank you for all the information. I just cannot bring myself to make it fwd. I may be making a mistake and regret it later but I guess I will deal with that when It happens. I am not looking to seriously mod this I just want to try to bring it back to 0. I have plenty of fast cars and muscle cars,...

Re: Chaosrob 1999 v70R 601 save, Going to need a lot of parts, lot of help and do a lot of reading..
Unfortunately someone cut the cat and flex section of the downpipe off this thing. I have managed to get it running and obviously need to procure a dp or spend the time to fabricate one. I found one with the cat on ebay for 402.00 but like everything on ebay I always question quality, I am posting ...

TY, ordered. Any idea what their lead time is like? When they first came out, it was a couple weeks as they were made to order at the time. Looking at the website now, it appears like they may be a stocked item, but I can't confirm. They're usually good about reaching out after an item is ordered i...

Re: Chaosrob 1999 v70R 601 save, Going to need a lot of parts, lot of help and do a lot of reading..
Thank you again. Is there a good dual exhaust cat back that isn't obnoxious available for my car or is custom the way to go? The 2000 R had a factory dual exhaust that's great - assuming you can find one these days, which is essentially impossible. There are no currently produced AWD dual exhaust s...
