Re: 98 V70R fuel pump!
There’s a red relay in the fuse box under the hood (the one closer to the dash) that runs the fuel pump. It’s a relatively common failure. Take the relay out of your base car and put it in this one to see if it resolves your issue. Easy and free test. Edit - I see you’ve already done this test. Disr...

Re: 98 V70R fuel pump!
These pumps can die suddenly. But you can usually motivate them to run again by smacking the fuel tank real good from below with a baseball bat or similar while a helper tries to start the car. If this works, it should be the fuel pump's brushes being worn or the comm in need of a new cut on a lathe...

Re: 98 V70R fuel pump!
Robert just tricked one into running by thumping the bottom of the tank with his fist - with the key in the run position, naturally. He and Handy Dan drove 20-odd miles back to Dan's place for the real repair.

Re: 98 V70R fuel pump!
It is worth checking Abscates 2nd go at the pump. He found a great way to drop the rear end just enough to access the pump without removing it all. It saves a lot of time. He used some threaded rod to allow the rear to be dropped only so far.

Re: 98 V70R fuel pump!
Corrosion of the mounting bolts on the rear subframe is the largest issue here. While in there check the subframe aluminum around the mounting bolts if/when you get them out and also mostly at the rear of the mounts at the fender rear. For some reason the RH side is typically the worst for some reas...

Re: 98 V70R fuel pump!
I'd rather cut away sheetmetal than deal with the rear subframe.

Re: 98 V70R fuel pump!
I'd rather cut away sheetmetal than deal with the rear subframe. Tending to agree  haven't yet looked at the (2nd) Abscates process, the issue hasn't arisen again (yet), car doesn't get driven a lot so can likely employ the "bang on that thang" process for a time yet if it does pop u...
