Re: 98 V70XC saved from the crusher
You could go the FWD route and delete the whole AWD rear end and transfer a FWD rear suspension and axles in like Bmdubya did with his V70R and has been detailed by Robert DIY and I believe others. That way you keep the good stuff and get rid of the complex AWD stuff. Neil I am aware of that swap. ...

Re: ABS resistance checks out, module repaired, still have codes
Did you or anyone else use RTV (Room Temp Vulcanizing) to seal the box? RTF has acidic acid which can cause corrosion in the enclosure. Your circuit board looks a little crusty to me. volvolugnut I have read about that and no i didn't use RTV. Whatever i used didn't smell like vinegar which was the...

Bad sump seals? Nope, oil SLUDGE!
I had all the tell tale signs that my sump seals were gone. Pretty loud ticking at idle. And it would go away with sustained rpm’s like highway driving which is mostly what I do. Re: AC turns on 1 sec then off. Full charge
I am thrilled to announce that this will not be a dead end thread! It turns out my high pressure sensor was bad. Took 1 minute to replace. From my research this is an uncommon failure, but I was able to troubleshoot it via multimeter as my last few posts stated.

Re: 1998 xc70 1/98 build Problem filling gas tank (meta discussion on evap config)
Also, great news. I fixed my gas filling problem! Turns out it was indeed related to a previous repair related to that “over fill” line I think I mentioned earlier. From the factory This is a largish diameter steel line coming from the top of the drivers side rear of the tank. It goes from there fol...

Re: What did you do to your Volvo today?
Didn’t do anything except wash my car. When I look back at it, I’m grateful that my factory nivomats are still strong. Going to be sad when they go. Enjoy your factory nivomats while they last!!
