Re: What did you do to your Volvo today?

So my lesson was worth 140 euro plus 120 for new spring compressor.

I have learned… to not go back to that shop.
The star nut was upside down

Edit: and they didn’t use the rubber spacer. Luckily I had spares.

Re: What did you do to your Volvo today?

Replacing the cv joint boot I got lucky and the cv joint was easy to get off the shaft. So I didn’t pull the axle at all.

Getting the bearings back was a puzzle. Until I found a mention of using grease instead of doing it dry.

Re: What did you do to your Volvo today?

That looks to be the whole thing, not just the case. It's also out of stock. For my 99, I was able to buy new cases, and swap ove...

Re: How are my cylinders looking?

Hello, Hey can you point me towards the model of boroscope that you bought? I'm intrigued as it seems you can "look back up to the spark plug hole that the wire has come through... Did you get it from Aliexpress? Cheers, John. I bought the cheapest one since I don’t use it daily. My only requi...

Re: Rear End Suspension Link Replacement 3516122

This is such a great write up! I'd need to replace my delta link frame mount on the driver's side (left). I'm not touching the delta links this time. It seems in the pictures that Ozark Lee's car is not jacked up - is it possible to remove and install the mounting bracket with wheels on the ground?...

Re: What did you do to your Volvo today?

Finished the whole suspension before the end of new year. I was able to loosen the jam but of the outer tie rods with my newly arrived crows foot wrenches. The threads were pre soaked in pb blaster and lotsa heat. So outer tie rods are done! Its not aligned yet, but it drives like a dream. The new d...

Re: What did you do to your Volvo today?

Also cleaned the original oil trap by soaking it in industrial degreaser. It’s ready for a second round around the block. . Did you do a glove test before the soaking? If so let us know the after. Always wondered if degreasing could return the part back to service. Currently our 07 S60 2.5T is neut...

Re: What did you do to your Volvo today?

I’ve been prepping the car for the yearly inspection. Cleaned out the couple months old pcv at the air intake, replaced the oil and checked brakes and parking brake. The car failed the first time inspection on something I’ve been messing with. The brake light pressure switch. The white collar was st...
