Re: How to ad bypass switch for cooling fan?

I think it will give you better improvement in airflow rather than adding more switches. Another question: you are in Colorado. Should it make a better sense to add axi...

Re: How to ad bypass switch for cooling fan?
In terms of added cooler- it all depends on your budget. I remember IPD was making something fancy for around $400 which was plug and play into the existing lines. Some people were cutting in extra cooler in line(but for the life if me I could not think about good location with airflow outside the r...

Re: How to ad bypass switch for cooling fan?
Yes in Colorado. With construction holdups and the hot temperatures ,Would like the fan on more. Volvo has designed it to come on when needed. It will run fine at 90c , then kick on at 105C in standstill traffic until the coolant temperature comes back to 90c. There is no reason to run it continuou...

Re: Automatic transmission fluid brand recommendations
The 4-speed automatics originally took Dex/Merc, but Volvo has said JWS3309 is also OK and may give smoother lockup engagement (Tech Net Note 40-04 and Service Bulletin 43-0029). One option for JWS3309 is Toyota T-IV, part number 00279-000T4-01 for 1 quart or 00279-000T4-6S for 6 quarts, about $6 a ...

Re: Automatic transmission fluid brand recommendations
In my '97 855 GLT (~260k miles), I have had good results with Castrol transmax high mileage ATF, with wife reporting smoother shifting compared to Castrol Dex Merc, the previous fluid I used.

Re: Automatic transmission fluid brand recommendations
Valvoline Dex6 Synthetic recommended by Volvo tech jimmy57 here. Great price in the jungle if you wait a month or two.
