Re: The craziest problem with 96 Volvo 850 T5
Did they checked TCU for fault codes? Erikv11 have good point about this. TCM,unlike ECU and ABS control unit will not clear the fault codes itself when parts are being replaced. They will remain stored untill read and cleared even if parts is replaced...AND will not proceed further untill codes are...

Re: Cracked block?
what can one do to prevent this? flush the coolant? I would say that regular coolant change will prevent this. I'm changing coolant every 3-4 years and the old one looks like new....without a hint of corrosion in the system. Most people doesn't know that coolant becomes agressive when it's not chan...

Re: 1998 V70 T5; problem hot starting & occasional brief power loss at speed
They are NOT interchangeable and also visualy not the same.
Yes...main fuel injection relay could make problems when it becomes hot....just like any other relay.
Try to swap it with a used one and see if problems go away.

Re: Low voltage reading after re-starting car
You will need 13.5-14.4v with headlights, heater blover(not on 4th speed!),radio and rear defroster ON. Anything below 13.5v will not keep the battery fully charged when car is used. The usual problem is positive battery cable which goes from battery to starter and then the other end...from starter t...

Re: P0172, P0302 & P0410
These cars will run ONLY on OE and OEM sensors. In this case...it's Bosch. Delphi(aftermarket) will not work. It's better to use oe sensor from junkyard than any aftermarket ones. Maf connectors on these cars are prone to failure....even if pins in connector looks ok you will need a small precision s...

Re: weird dash malfunction
Battery light will illuminate when there is a permanent fault with voltage regulator or with diodes....in other words....when there is no voltage output from the alternator. Otherwise....if b+ cable or ground cable is bad it will illuminate only if charging output is lower than battery voltage. For ...

Re: Early & late 850 instrument cluster compatibility
As far as i could investigate...they have production date behind or under it. But....'98 could be '98 and '99(for example...'98 for model year '99)....depeding on which part of the year it was manufactured. So...part numbers could be the only valid info. ***As soon as you get back from that "Si...

Re: Early & late 850 instrument cluster compatibility
SOLVED!!! In order to have properly working SRS warning light and no SRS 127 code stored in SRS system, you just need to add a wire from ignition switch(x-supply,yellow violet wire)to connector "B" on pin B5. B5 is spare in '96 & '97 850. That's all. IMG_20191222_211344_539.jpg IMG_2019...

Re: Issue after battery wrong connection...
No protection from wrong polarity.
What you can do is to check relays under the fuse box cover under the hood....since your intstrument cluster is dead too.
