850 driver side window fix
Recently I tried to close the driver side window but as it rose it started tilting at an angle. I thought maybe the window guide must have come loose or broke again. Found out that one of the two brackets attached to the bottom of the glass came loose and dropped to the bottom of the door. The glass...

Re: Rough idle, lumpy revs and stalling after heavy acceleration - 1999 Volvo C70 2.3 T5
I had a similar thing happen. Turned out that I had cracked that plastic tank on the intercooler. It took a smoke test to find it.

Re: Cant get lower control arm installed
What a nightmare, but it turns out the fix isn’t Hard. You have to remove the driveshaft which isn’t hard with a chisel, once you do that I was able to compress the inner CV joint by holding it upright. You can not compress it when it’s installed. Somehow the cv joint dislodged and expanded too much...

Re: 94 850 Turbo Sedan - Runs Rough Until It's Restarted
Here is a follow up for a few things. I finally got around to doing a full PCV system replacement. I did that mainly because I wasn't sure if the previous owner had done it. Upon inspection, the PCV system looked almost brand new so I ended up not replacing much of it. While doing that, I replaced a...

Re: 850 Rear Windshield Wiper
+1 on this. If the motor is not working, check for broken wires as jreed says at the LH rear hing on the tailgate. With age the wires break there. It is fiddly to repair but is the most likely issue. If you are not getting water, doe the pump run at all when you try to wash the rear window? If you d...

Re: 850 Crankshaft pulley question
Salut Neil, I do thank you for your advice and i understand your meaning. I'm in a progression with my car, i try to clear each point one after the other. I have a double goal acting that way. I want to learn how to repair the car, and do what needs to be done to make it safe as it was just come out...

Re: Links for parts?
Just make sure they do not use any hoses supplied by a company called 'URO'. They will disintegrate quickly. Their parts are worse than the cheap ones you get at the autoparts store under "economy" pricing in my opinion. OEM or better on anything you can. You'll spend a bit more upfront, ...

Re: Dropping the Fuel Tank What Hoses/Gaskets To Change?
Replace as many of those lines as you can while you're in there. I think @Abscate has some pictures of one of the tanks recently that he dropped. Check your fuel filler neck clamp about half way down it (can't remember if yours has this) the clamp rusts away over time and gives you large PCV leaks d...

Re: Timing Belt--What to replace after 7 years and 35K
I don't like surprises in general. I'm a newbie and i learned mechanic. Here. What is done is no more to do. To start on a healthy base, i would change all these parts, no tricky job in fact if you take your time to fix the timing etc... But as it has been said before, each member his own story. Manov
