Dropping the Fuel Tank What Hoses/Gaskets To Change?

Post by 98V70T5 »

Hello,

I am dropping the gas tank on a 98 V70 T5, to change a fuel line. What fuel tank gaskets, and hoses should be pre-emptively changed while I'm back there?

I have heard of some hose that can leak when you fill up, two evap hoses, fuel neck to tank gasket, should be changed. Any others or tips I should consider?

Thanks!

I'm getting ready to do this as well. I just bought every one that was listed through FCP or IPD. I think there were only three but I do know that in my case one was no longer available. I figure if I'm doing it, then might as well do all of them including the filler neck doughnut.

Replace as many of those lines as you can while you're in there. I think @Abscate has some pictures of one of the tanks recently that he dropped.

Check your fuel filler neck clamp about half way down it (can't remember if yours has this) the clamp rusts away over time and gives you large PCV leaks during acceleration/deceleration.
